Bedrooms

They should be unique to you, providing a space that you can relax and rest in. What calms you?

The thought behind our Master suite was again, you guessed it, to be practical. So how can a bedroom be practical other than the fact that of course it has a bed in it, you might ask? Well, its important to have a room that speaks calmness to you. Makes you take a deep breath and sleep soundly. Now this is unique for each individual, so find what relaxes you. For us it was a calm warm color, simple furnishing, non- fussy design, very simple wooden beams, large windows taking in a view of the garden and photos of our reason to get up every day, our 3 sweet children.

For the kids bedrooms we had a bit more fun, adding in a little splash of each of their personalities. For them its more than a space to sleep, they spend a lot of their time here, playing, reading, hanging out with their friends, so the rooms have to be slightly more functional than the master suite.

Find ways to store (hide) all their toys so the room can still have an organized uncluttered feel to it. We over indulged our boys with their games and themes, but it doesn't have to be tacky. You're only young once, we wanted them to have a fun room to grow up in.
